Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to your use of this website and to attendance at any Baithak or event organised by House of Baithaks (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the site or attending an event, you agree to them.

Our events

Baithaks are intimate, limited-capacity gatherings. Details such as artists, venue, timing and format are curated for each evening and may change for reasons outside our control, including artist availability, venue conditions, weather or safety. Where a material change is necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to inform confirmed guests in advance.

Conduct at events

Because the setting is small and listening-focused, we ask every guest to:

• arrive on time, as late entry can disturb a performance in progress;
• keep phones silenced and refrain from recording unless recording is expressly permitted for that evening;
• respect the artists, hosts, other guests and the host’s property;
• follow any reasonable instructions from our team or the host regarding seating, capacity and safety.

We may decline entry to, or ask to leave, anyone whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe or disrespectful, without any obligation to compensate.

Private and hosted Baithaks

Arrangements for private events and host partnerships (space, capacity, scheduling, responsibilities and any fees) are agreed separately in writing for each engagement. An inquiry submitted through this site is a request only and does not create a confirmed booking until we confirm it.

Website content and intellectual property

The name “House of Baithaks”, our logo, and the text, images and design on this site belong to us or are used with permission, and may not be reproduced without our consent. Some gallery photographs are licensed stock imagery, used here to illustrate the atmosphere of a Baithak until our own event photography replaces them.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss or damage to personal belongings at an event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. You attend events at your own risk and are responsible for your own health and safety and that of any guest you bring.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the version published here at the time of your visit or event applies. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and how we use it. We collect only what we need to respond to you and to run our events.

What we collect

When you submit one of the forms on this site, we collect the details you enter, which may include:

• Contact form: your name, phone number, email address and your message.
• Perform With Us: the above plus your city, the art form you perform, whether you have performed with us before, and anything else you choose to share.
• Be a Host / private event inquiry: the above plus your city or locality, whether you’re interested in hosting or booking a private Baithak, the type and approximate capacity of your space, and your description of it.

Our web host may also record standard technical logs (for example IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use advertising trackers.

How we use it

• to reply to your inquiry and stay in touch about it;
• to plan, confirm and coordinate Baithaks, performances and hosted events;
• to keep records of inquiries and bookings;
• occasionally, to let you know about upcoming Baithaks - you can ask us to stop at any time.

Where your information goes

Form submissions are sent to our email inbox and stored in a private spreadsheet that only our team can access. To provide these services we rely on trusted third parties - currently Google (spreadsheet and script hosting) and Brevo (sending our notification emails) - who process the data on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information or share it with anyone else except where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry and booking records for as long as needed for the purpose they were collected and a reasonable period afterwards, then delete or anonymise them.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw consent to further contact. Email info@houseofbaithaks.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Photography and recording at events

We sometimes photograph or record our Baithaks for our gallery and social media. If you attend, you may appear in the background of this material. Tell a member of our team on the evening if you would prefer not to be featured and we will do our best to accommodate that. Some venues operate their own CCTV for security; that footage is controlled by the venue, not by us.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

House of Baithaks does not currently sell tickets or take payments through this website. All contact made here is by inquiry, and this policy will be expanded if and when online bookings are introduced.

Inquiries and invitations

Submitting a form on this site places you under no obligation and involves no payment. Where a Baithak is run on an invitation or RSVP basis, confirming your place and then not attending simply means we may offer it to someone on the waiting list next time.

Private events and host arrangements

If we agree to organise a private Baithak or a hosted event, any fees, deposits, payment schedule and cancellation terms will be set out in the written agreement for that specific event. As a general guide:

• a cancellation by you well in advance will usually allow most costs to be refunded, less any non-recoverable amounts already committed on your behalf (for example artist advances or venue charges);
• a cancellation close to the event date may be non-refundable, because artists and suppliers have been booked;
• if we have to cancel an event for reasons within our control and cannot offer a mutually acceptable alternative date, we will refund the amounts you have paid for it.

Circumstances beyond reasonable control - illness, travel disruption, extreme weather, venue failure, government restrictions - may require rescheduling; we will always try to agree a fair outcome with you.
